Park Rules

Hours are from 5 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Remaining in parks outside of these hours is unlawful without permission

Glass is prohibited in city parks

No parking on the grass

No amplified music without a specific permit.

Dogs are allowed only in the following Parks:

Barker Field dog park - Byrd Park 600 S. Blvd. (23220) Monday - Sunday 6:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Chimborazo dog park - Church Hill

Forest Hill Park - Southside

James River Park System - pets must remain leashed

Service dogs are allowed in every park

No alcoholic beverages are allowed in city parks

No open fires are allowed outside of park official fireplaces and grills

No golf or archery

Carrying firearms are prohibited in all city-owned public parks

No tents, stages or other special apparatus without a permit

Cutting or damaging park trees, shrubs or plants in city parks is illegal
